Our members are currently collaborating together on several multi-island projects (ex. food tree giveaways, farmer trainings), and developing other future statewide projects (ex. Hawaii Good Food Fund, Veggie Rx Produce Prescription Program expansions).
Our current larger statewide projects include
Da Bux Double Up Food Bucks
With The Food Basket leading, HGFA secured over $2M in funding from Federal, State, and private partners to provide the ability for consumers to DOUBLE their SNAP/EBT incentives! This program will allow low income families access to local fruits and vegetables at 1/2 the market price across the state.
Hawaii Farmers Market Association
Under fiscal sponsorship of Sustainable Molokai, the Hawaii Farmers Market Association was established in 2020 to strengthen and promote a vibrant and sustainable local food system and economy by supporting farmers markets and direct-to-consumer farm marketing statewide.
